Microsoft Azure for .NET developers

Ahmedabad

26 August 2023

On August 26, 2023, iFour Technolab hosted a meetup called "Microsoft Azure for .NET developers" to address the concepts of Microsoft Azure and how DOT NET developers may make the most of it. This was the third technical meetup held on Azure, and we were pretty excited about it.

The session was entirely focused on Azure-based App services and their core functions. We wanted to educate viewers on what Azure is and how it works so well with Microsoft .NET development to streamline activities.

Our office buzzed with excitement as we gathered for this spectacular Azure meet-up. We had no idea that this event would result in such amazing success and enthusiasm. Everyone in the audience was eager to learn what’s new in this session.

Microsoft Azure for .NET developers

Our first expert, Krunal Patel, kicked things off by showing us the wonders of Azure App Service and Application Insights.

He says “To remain competitive, businesses must go to the cloud. Microsoft Azure is one such example of a Microsoft cloud innovation that provides a wide range of services and makes your organization more productive and cost-effective. The best part? It helps you with control access and allows you to create software applications from anywhere at any time via global data centers.”

It left us more curious when he explained the fundamental workings of Azure App services in detail.

Azure App Service

What is Azure App Service?

“It is a PaaS (platform-as-a-service) kind of service offered by Microsoft Azure that allows developers to build, deploy, and scale web applications and APIs without having to manage the underlying infrastructure.

Whereas “Application insights” is something that helps you gain deep insights into the behavior, performance, and usage of your applications running on Azure App Service.”

Next up was Nilesh Bhayani, who explored the secrets of Azure storage. It wasn't just about saving files; it was about understanding the power of storing and managing data in a whole new way.

He says “Azure storage is the modern-day solution to all storage problems. Storage capacity is limitless virtually. It gives the flexibility of paying only for what you used.”

Dhruv Jain, a .NET expert at iFour then took viewers on a cosmic journey through Azure Service Bus, Service Queue, and Azure Functions. He explored in detail how these services connect with each other to make your systems work smoother.

He says "Azure Service Bus is a cloud-based messaging solution that facilitates communication between services and applications. Azure Service Bus Queue is a simple yet effective solution for storing and delivering messages. With Azure Functions, you can run code whenever you need to without worrying about managing the infrastructure thanks to serverless computing.”

The whole evening became a beautiful tapestry of Azure wonders. Each expert added their unique part to the story. We weren't just listening; we were part of a team discovering the incredible possibilities of Azure.

In the meantime, Mr. Krunal Patel took over things by adding more about Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) login and other additional Azure services. He went into great length on these subjects in relation to SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.

The experts’ participation and knowledge sharing have been tremendous in this session. Several experts posed insightful questions that strengthened our thoughts on the rise of Azure. As the event ended, we were left buzzing with energy. The journey into Azure was just beginning, and the things our experts shared became our guide to new and exciting possibilities.
